Description: Leather Farlow London Fly Fishing Case with Flies. Some wear as shown but judging by the style of the tooled leather I would guess a mid 19th century date quite soon after Farlows' move to 191 Strand in 1846 only a year after their move to 221 Strand from Crooked Lane. It contains numerous pockets and still has approximately 35 tied flies inside. A lovely untouched piece of vintage fishing history. From their website "Farlows was founded in Crooked Lane, London in 1840 by brothers Charles and John King Farlow and the Farlow family was at the heart of the business for 120 years, establishing the company as the foremost innovators in the world of fishing tackle. Despite numerous changes, some of which are outlined in the timeline below, the business has endured and evolved and continues to offer the same personal service and unrivalled technical expertise that the founders originally promoted."
