Description: DATING TO THE MID 19TH CENTURY FASHIONED OF A PURPLE AND BLACK LARGE SCALE CHECK SILK VELVET AND IS FULLY HAND SEWN THROUGHOUT. PADDED CHEST IN THE FRONT AND IS DOUBLE BREASTED WITH HOLES FOR BUTTON LINKS, BUTTON LINKS ARE NOT INCLUDED. POCKETS ON EACH SIDE WITH AN ADDITIONAL POCKET ON THE HIGH LEFT CHEST. INTERIOR IS LINED IN COTTON AND BACKED IN POLISHED COTTON WITH BELTING AT THE BOTTOM WITH A BLACK GLAZED SHARP BUCKLE. A NOTE IS ATTACHED ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER, GIVING THE OWNER’S IDENTIFICATION. CONDITION: SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. THERE IS WEAR TO THE KNAP UNDER EACH UNDER ARM WITH SOME SMALL SPOTTING UNDER THE LEFT. WEAR TO THE KNAP IS ON THE BOTTOM FRONT EDGE ON EACH SIDE WITH SMALL WEAR BENEATH THE POCKET EDGE ON THE LEFT SIDE BOTTOM.
