Description: Military Issue M1956 Canvas Pistol Web Belt Large Size Waist to 52" Up for sale is an Original Pistol Canvas Web Belt. This is a Large, waist to 52" adjustable style belt. This belt is used, see photo's for Condition. Contract markings & dates on the rear are present. This is a second pattern Canvas Belt with the Vertical lines in the canvas, rather than the earlier horizontal lines. The M1956 pistol belt was made from 2-1/4-inch wide cotton webbing dyed olive drab shade no. 7. It was made in Medium (under 36-inch waist) and Large (36-inch waist and over) sizes, and unlike the M1936 belt it could be adjusted in length from both ends. The M1956 belt was initially produced with a ball-type buckle. With the weight taken by the M1956 suspenders the belt was used to carry a field pack, ammunition pouches, canteen covers etc.Please see photos.
