We recommend that you play with people you know well and/or people you know are not easily offended. Product Description HOW TO PLAY DEBATABLE 1. SELECTING A DEBATE TOPIC A random player is chosen to be the Moderator for the first round. The moderator draws a Topic Card which contains 5 different topics to debate, and selects 1 of them.The moderator then selects two players who they want to see debate the chosen topic. The moderator also selects which player should argue for the "YES" side, and who should argue for the "NO" side. 2. USING DEBATE STRATEGIES Before the debate starts both debating players draw two Strategy Cards each. The strategy cards all contain different strategies that the debating players MUST use while trying to win the debate, however, they are not allowed to show or tell anyone else what their strategies are. Now, the moderator turns over the sand timer and the debate starts. The two players do their best to win the debate while trying to overcome the, most likely silly, strategies they have on their cards. This will of course create a hilarious debate, regardless of how serious the topic is.The moderator’s job is to make sure both players get to talk and is also allowed to ask questions to keep the debate going.To end the round, all non-debating players vote on which side they think won the debate. The "YES" side or the "NO" side. 4. WHO WINS THE GAME? When a player loses a debate, they get an Under Pressure Card. Having this card means that if you lose another debate, you’re out of the game.Luckily, being out of the game is also kind of fun because the moderator role will pass in clockwise order between the eliminated players. This means that even players who have lost stay involved in the game until the end, and of course even if you’re eliminated you still get to vote each round. Eventually, only one player will remain standing and will be declared the Debate King or Queen, meaning everyone must give them a bow of respect. If you decide to play another game, the Debate King or Queen’s reward is to be the moderator for the first round of the new game. We hope you will enjoy the game!
