Description: MLB RECORD!! GERRIT COLE 61 STRIKEOUTS WITHOUT A WALK — THE BASEBALL THAT STARTED THE STREAK & THE BASEBALL THAT SET THE RECORD AND ENDED THE STREAK & A BASEBALL FOR A STRIKEOUT IN BETWEEN!! Shipped FedEx Standard Overnight Delivery. How often have you had the chance to own the baseballs that set an MLB record? This is a set of three baseballs from Gerrit Cole’s MLB record setting 61 strikeouts without a walk. The set includes the baseball that started the streak, the baseball that set the record and ended the streak, and a baseball for a strikeout in between. On April 12, 2021, the New York Yankees visited the Toronto Blue Jays at TD Ballpark. Cole started for the Yankees, while Robbie Ray went for the Jays. In the top of the second, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. led off with a walk. It was Cole’s last walk for over a month. Alejandro Kirk walked to the plate. COLE HELD BASEBALL VS335248 IN HIS HAND!! He threw an 83.3-mph knuckle curve for a called strike. (Yes, that means Kyle Higashioka also touched this ball!) Cole came back with a slider that Kirk swung at and missed. Cole threw another slider, AND KIRK WAS CALLED OUT ON STRIKES — THE FIRST STRIKEOUT OF THE STREAK!! Cole got ball VS335248 back. Joshua Palacios came to bat. Cole threw a 98.2-mph!! fastball that Palacios swung at and missed. Cole came back with a 98.3-mph!! fastball for a ball. He threw a slider that Palacios swung at and missed. Cole threw a 98.1-mph four-seamer THAT PALACIOS SWUNG AT AND MISSED TO STRIKEOUT - THE SECOND STRIKEOUT OF THE STREAK!! Cole got ball VS335248 back. Marcus Semien was up. Cole threw a slider for a called strike. He came back with a 98-mph fastball!! Cole threw a slider for a called strike. He threw a knuckle curveball that hit the dirt. Ball VS335248 was then retired. Semien eventually struck out (but not with this ball) to end the inning. The Yankees won the game 3-1. Ball VS335248 is MLB Authenticated for all 11 pitches from Cole (four of which were at least 98 mph!!), including strikeouts of Kirk and Palacios. By my count, they were Cole’s 1,453rd and 1,454th career strikeouts. On May 12, 2021, the Yankees visited the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Cole started, while Collin McHugh opened for the Rays. In the bottom of the third, Willy Adames led off. COLE HELD BASEBALL VS292378 IN HIS HAND!! He threw a knuckle curve for a called strike. (Yes, that means Higashioka touched this ball too!!) Cole came back with a 95.6-mph!! fastball for a called strike. He threw a 97-mph!! fastball FOR A CALLED STRIKE THAT STRUCK OUT ADAMES!! ACCORDING TO THE RAYS, IT WAS COLE’S 1,499th STRIKEOUT!! BY MY COUNT, IT WAS THE 47th STRIKEOUT OF THE STREAK!! Cole got ball VS292378 back. Brett Phillips came to bat. Cole threw a 94.5-mph fastball for a ball. He came back with a 95-mph fastball, and PHILLIPS FOULED OFF BALL VS292378. The ball was retired. Phillips eventually struck out for Cole’s 1,500th strikeout (but not with this baseball). Randy Arozarena ended the inning by grounding out to Tyler Wade. The Yankees won the game 1-0. Ball VS292378 is MLB Authenticated for Cole’s strikeout of Adames and Phillips’s foul off Cole. On May 17, 2021, the Yankees visited the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. Cole started, while Jordan Lyles went for the Rangers. In the bottom of the first, Cole set the MLB record for most strikeouts without a walk at 59, breaking Corbin Burnes’s record set a week earlier. (None of these baseballs is the 59th strikeout.) In the bottom of the third, Nathaniel Lowe led off. With the count 0-1, COLE HELD BASEBALL VS497755 IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 97.2-mph!! fastball for a ball. (Yes, that means Higashioka also touched this ball!!) Cole came back with a 97.3-mph!! fastball that Lowe swung at and missed. Cole threw a slider THAT WAS CALLED STRIKE THREE, STRIKING OUT LOWE!! IT WAS THE 61st AND LAST STRIKEOUT OF THE STREAK!! BY MY COUNT, IT WAS COLE’s 1,513th CAREER STRIKEOUT!! Cole got Ball VS497755 back. Joey Gallo walked to the plate. Cole threw a 98.2-mph!! four-seamer for a ball. He threw two changeups, both for balls. Cole threw a 96.3-mph fastball for a called strike. With the count 3-1, Cole yanked a 96.3-mph fastball FOR BALL FOUR, WALKING GALLO!! THE STREAK WAS OVER!! IT WAS COLE’S FIRST WALK SINCE APRIL 12, 2021 WHEN HE WALKED GURRIEL!! And it was an adventurous walk!! Cole yanked Ball VS497755 so far that it went to the backstop!! Gallo raced to first AND THEN TRIPPED OVER THE BASE!! Higashioka grabbed the ball and fired to Luke Voit. Gallo scrambled back to first just ahead of the tag!! This ball was then retired. The Yankees lost the game 5-2. Baseball VS497755 is MLB Authenticated for Cole’s strikeout of Lowe and walk of Gallo. Again, you will receive all three baseballs: VS335248 that started the streak with strikeouts #1 and #2; VS497755 that set the record at 61 strikeouts and ended the streak with a walk; and, VS292378, which was in between (#47) and, according to the Rays, Cole’s career strikeout 1,499 (plus part of his 1,500th strikeout). Thank you for purchasing!!
