Modified Olive Drab BDU, mod done in the style of the 173rd Airborne (in fact modeled after my personal uniform I wore when attached to the 173rd in 2005) by removing the bottom pockets and placing them on the sleeve in an angled orientation. No velcro is added for the pocket closure or patches, the original buttons are used. We recently made a bunch of these for OPFOR use for a contract here in NC and they were wildly popular and successful. These jackets are Olive Drab green. There are a whole bunch of shades of OD made over the years, this one is the more traditional shape, closest to the original OG107 spec shade. Even among these there is slight variation in shades among the shirts, as over the years for both issue and contract items the shades could vary. As I get other shades I will list them as well. The photos were all taken outdoors in natural light to give you the most accurate idea of the exact shade as possible. This shirt is made from a 100% cotton ripstop fabric, the same type used on original jungle fatigues and early summer BDU's, that gets softer and more comfortable with every wash. Size Medium Long. I will be posting other sizes so be sure to check my other listings. Be sure to read below for details! This is not an original item, but a remake made as true to original form as possible. All our sewing is done by a team of a Vietnam veteran and an Afghanistan veteran. My remakes are all made either with government issue shirts or quality commercial ones like Tru-Spec and Propper, we work very hard to source good quality shirts to makes these from. This item started with a new shirt that had never been worn. Because each one is individually modified there will be slight differences in the details between them. The example shown will not be the exact same one you get, but yours will be made in the same style of the same base pattern shirt. These shirts are modified from original style shirts, they are not made this way from the factory. As a result there will be marks from stitching where the lower pockets were removed, including thinner areas of fabric where the bar tack stitching was on the edges of the stitch lines. Sometimes if the area was weakened too much by the removal of the bar tack stitches we reinforce the area with some added stitching, as was done when these mods were done originally and this issue encountered. This is not a defect, it is the normal appearance of an actual modified shirt like this. The stitching marks typically fade away and become much less noticeable after some wear and a couple of washings. Because these are modern reproductions and not original pieces with collector value they are ideal for wear as OPFOR, for reenacting, for MILSIM and airsoft, and other uses where you don't want to risk damaging an actual collectable piece. To prevent them from being later confused for original items, intentionally or by accident, under the pocket flap we stencil our business initials. This cannot be seen when worn and do not change the appearance of the item at all, but it helps preserve the integrity of the collectors market for actual combat worn items, particularly on our desert camo ones.
