Description: This hardcover book, titled "More Leaves from the Journal of a Life in the Highland" by Queen Victoria, is a fascinating piece of history. It is a second edition that was published in 1884 by Smith, Elder & Co in London. This book is Queen Victoria’s journal entries during her time in the highlands of Scotland while she was a widow. The book was part of a library’s collection at some point and has the Dewey decimal on the spine’s cover and remnants of a pocket at the back (see photos). I did not see any library stamps. The book’s binding is cracked at the front and back (see photos). The pages are rough cut on all 3 exposed sides and are clean and free of tears. The first 7 photographs have a damp stain (see photo); however, the adjacent text pages do not have this stain. The cover is wonderfully decorated and has minimal signs of wear, consistent with its age. This book is a great find for anyone interested in Queen Victoria and/or Scotland and is a valuable addition to any collection.
