Description: MORRIS & CO LONGDEN TILE DESIGNED BY PHILLIP WEBB, MADE BY RAVESTEIJIN This tile design is called Longden, named after an iron founder who presumably ordered the first batches of these tiles. Designed by Philip Webb, who worked with William Morris in the early 1870s. These tiles were sold through Morris & Co in London. This particular tile dates probably late 19th century, decorated in Holland by RAVESTEIJIN, a 6-inch size explicitly made for the British market. Some of these tiles were decorated in London, later painted in Holland. All were painted on Dutch blanks. Tile measuring 6" x 6". 15 cm x 15 cm.
