Morton M-5 model airplane engine PDF copy on CD-ROM

Description: Shortly after World War II the Morton Aircraft company released this set of drawings. They manufactured the finished engines and sold them and also sold raw castings of the engine to home enthusiasts to build working examples of this engine like the manufactured engine, it was literally a 5 cylinder radial engine, 4 stroke gasoline, spark ignition engine that was about 5 inches in diameter! a challenge to build that has a unique place in model aviation history, It was unique enough that it is one of a very few examples of model aircraft engines that earned cabinet space in a display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.! The Morton Company was eventually bought out by Burgess Battery and they also manufactured it under the name of "Burgess Morton M-5" There are several deviations in this set of drawings from the Burgess model but these are the first set of Morton drawings.Some copies of magazine advertisements for the engine are also included and the original typed Morton instruction sheets are also included!This listing is for the PDF version on CD-ROM of the Drawings which are High Resolution scans which were adjusted for gamma, brightness and contrast. The magazine format was a much smaller and difficult to read so we have expanded to nearly 8 1/2 x 11 format for easy reading. In all there are over 50 pages of drawings and instructions in this file.
