Description: This listing is for a vintage painting by Moshe Katz depicting two mid century stylized Women carrying Jugs on their heads in a traditional manner. I believe it may be a reference to the biblical story of the women at the well, or a similar tale from the Bible. It is signed by the artist on the front, as well as having some sort of inventory or gallery number on the back. This may help track down further provenance or a title. It is an original piece of artwork, seemingly a light mixed media work of applied paint and some other unknown medium. It is a skillful piece, with intriguing textures throughout. No areas of indented stretching, tears, missing media, etc. are present. It appears to have no fading or damage from age. Colors are layered and vibrant, aiding the visually complex style of the artist to draw the viewers eye around the image. I believe it’s current method of framing is original, and as such I have not messed with it at all.
