Description: The Famille Verte pattern of dinnerware is produced by Mottahedeh, a company known for its luxury ceramic reproductions and historic designs. The Famille Verte pattern comes from a style of porcelain that was produced in China during the Kangxi period (1662-1722). The name Famille Verte refers to ceramists use of primary colors red and green, the first shades that could be fused into bright colors. The design features sprigs of blue-green leaves, twigs, red goji berries, and three beautiful multi-color butterflies. The rimmed soup bowl is 10” diameter with gold rim on the top outer edge. The lip of the bowl is 1-1/2” wide. The well of the bowl is tapered from 7” to 5”. The back of the bowl is stamped Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as the Mottahedeh stamp and “Decoration adapted from a Chinese bowl. K’and Hsi period (1662-1722)”. Exquisite design and colors. In excellent preowned unused condition with no marks of any kind.
