Archive of art for Moxie carbonated drink that includes an original rough sketch, the finished inked and shaded advertisement, and the original finished art for a second small spot advertisement. The sketch is on onion paper that is stapled to a second blank leaf, both measuring 14" x 17". The two pieces of finished art are on artists boards measuring 6" x 5.25" and 12" x 9.5". Near fine or better with a touch of wear to the edges of the delicate onion skin, glue remnants to the back of the finished art, and tape over the small Moxie bottle reattaching it to the board. This group appears to come from an unknown artist working for the advertising agency Foote, Belding & Cone during the 1950s. Moxie was a leading soft drink company of the early 20th Century with a series of popular advertisement that established "moxie" in the American vernacular as a term for pep and determination. The brand is still produced in New England by Coca-Cola Bottling. A wonderfully charming ad featuring two sophisticated foxes talking about Moxie's uplifting attributes.
