Description: Wonderful piece of movie history - the original handwritten first page of the score of the titular song "Mr. Holland's Opus" from the hit movie of the same name. This very piece (also known as An American Symphony) won the 1997 Grammy award for best instrumental arrangement. The page is handwritten and signed by composer Michael Kamen (1948-2003), one of the most prolific movie composers in the 80s and 90s who composed for over 60 movies including Die Hard 1-3, Lethal Weapon 1-4, X Men, Brazil, Highlander, Road House, and Band of Brothers. He was also the conductor for Metallica's collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony. Kamen also won the 1996 BMI Film Music award for the score for Mr. Holland's Opus. This was part of the Planet Hollywood collection until they closed most of their restaurants. Planet Hollywood acquired it directly from the Interscope Communications, the production company that made Mr. Holland's Opus. Page measures 19.5x11 inches. Has some staining on it, some of which bleeds through both sides (see pictures). Authenticated by PSA DNA. Amazing piece of Hollywood and music memorabilia - not only is it a handwritten page of music from the original score, but it is the first page of the title piece that the movie is named after. (And also a major plot device in the movie - the plot of the movie is about a music teacher's life and his dream of one day composing his own symphony)
