This item is in very good condition. This is the older version pre-2010 with a 9-pin serial plug and is not USB. We have not tested this item as we do not have the cables or locomotive with needed decoder. This is an MTH 50-1001 O DCS Remote Control Set. The DCS Remote Control System allows you to leave track voltage constant and control multiple Proto-Sound 2.0-equipped engines individually. Thirty-two buttons and an LCD display provide total control over Proto-Sound 2.0 features such as setting scale mph, passenger station announcements and setting multi-unit lash-ups. A single DCS Remote handheld will allow you to control Proto-Sound 2.0 locomotives in command mode, TMCC-equipped engines in command mode (when you connect a Lionel Command Base to the TIU) and all conventional 3-rail O Gauge engines at the same time. Included is a DCS remote handheld and 1 track interface unit (TIU). The range is approximately 50 feet.
