Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....! Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal. Vintage Murano glass Bottle / Vase made in Italy. Attributed to the studio of Seguso Vetri d`Arte. From a line of ancient Roman Style glassware produced in Italy, circa 1960s. The yellowed gray/white tinted glass is accented by a slight iridescence and a "Scavo" patina. "Scavo" in Italian means "Excavated", a technique involving the application of substances to the glass surface that when heated fuse to create an effect similar to weathering. This bottle is intended to replicate ancient Roman glass exhumed after centuries underground. It stands 5 1/2 inches tall and has survived prior ownership free of chips or cracks. There is a spiral or snake like application on the neck. I am not sure if the top tip or tail has suffered a loss. Being hand crafted, it is difficult to tell. I inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size. MUCH OBLIGED
