En Estados Unidos ha publicado los libros de poesa Celda nmero cero, Velo de cristal y En el extrao viaje; mientras en Italia apareci Escrito sin permiso, que tambin se public en Argentina y Espaa. Es fundador de la prensa independiente cubana y fue encarcelado en 2003. En la crcel recibi el Premio Internacional de Libertad de Prensa, que otorga el Comit de Proteccin al Periodista (2003), y el de Human Right Watch (2004). Actualmente vive en Miami.
