Description: Nakamichi 482Z - Fully Serviced 3-head Cassette Deck This is a fully restored (serviced, recapped, and calibrated) deck to ensure optimal performance. No bad surprises. The following work has been performed on this deck: - Transport cleaned, lubricated, playback and recording heads aligned. Pinch roller posts lubricated and realigned - All belts and idler tire replaced - Capstan motor replaced, reel and control motors lubricated - Switches and pots deoxidized - Deck is extensively recapped with genuine Nichicon and Panasonic electrolytic capacitors. In the power supply low ESR capacitors provide clean, reliable power. In the other sections appropriate audio grade capacitors are used (Nichicon Fine Gold, Nichicon UKL for low leakage, Nichicon Muse ES for bipolars, etc) - Orange capacitors replaced with Wima or Kemet Polypropylene film caps of correct tolerances as listed in service manual. Each capacitor hand-picked to ensure matching between channels. No risk of orange cap disease for this deck. - Over 90 components at risk of drifting out of tolerance have been replaced. - Full calibrations done - motor speed, reel torque, back tension, meter level, head height, Azimuth, Dolby playback level (using full-track 200 nWb/m ANSI Dolby level tape), Recording bias and levels calibrated using TDK D/SA/MA tapes. - Old plastic feet replaced with new anodized aluminum feet. - Cosmetically the deck is in very good condition with some light scratches and scuffs on the faceplate that are normal for a deck of this vintage.
