About Nandor Horthy Nandor Horthy was born and educated in Hungary, where he studied art and music. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1957 after the Hungarian Revolution. In Canada, Horthy continued his career as a professional musician. He played music at night and worked as an artist during the day but after several years fine art over-took music. Horthy has won numerous prizes for his paintings in Canada and the United States. He was elected as a signature member of the prestigious Canadian Society of Artists. And, Horthy is a founding member of the Hungarian Visual Artists of Canada and was its President for five years.
