Description: 20 mm butt chisel with stained Beech handle These butt chisels are made by Nartex of the Czech Republic and are of exceptional quality. The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blades take and hold an excellent edge. The blades are accurately ground and the sides are ground at a sharp bevel ending to a very narrow landing on each side, providing excellent sidewall clearance. These chisels come in the following sizes: 6 mm, 12 mm, 20 mm and 26 mm. They are ground at a 25 degree bevel. Blades are 3 3/4" long and are a full 1/4" thick toward the handle adding strength and making them easier to control. Handles are stained European Beech are 3" long and have a flat on the back to prevent rolling off the bench. . Overall length is 6 3/4". Blades have well-seated heavy steel tangs and handles solid brass ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work.
