For your consideration is an important and historical Royal Decree (Farman) dated 1305 Ghamari (1883) signed by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar and written to his eldest son, Prince Mass'oud Mirza Zell-e Soltan ( ). Prince Mass'oud Mirza Zell-e Soltan was known as the "Yamin-al-Dowleh" (Right Hand of the Government). Beginning at the age of 13, he was appointed the governor of Mazandaran, Turkman Sahra, Semnan, and Damghan and later became the governor of Isfahan, Fars, Arabestan, Lorestan, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan. The royal court calligrapher hand wrote this stunning farman with beautiful calligraphy, which received the seal of the king. This document gave governorship of the provinces of Isfahan, Fars, Arabestan, Lorestan, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan to his eldest son. The back has 2 stamps from cabinet ministers of the royal court. The king, through this document, gave his eldest son nearly half the country. This royal Islamic document is fragile, but in excellent condition for being nearly 150 years old. The document has a glossy sheen to it and is made from egg shells. Museum quality. One of a kind. Content extremely significant. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (Persian: , romanized: Nser-ad-Din h-e Qjr; 16 July 1831 1 May 1896) was the fourth Shah of Qajar Iran from 5 September 1848 to 1 May 1896 when he was assassinated. He was the son of Mohammad Shah Qajar and Malek Jahan Khanom and the third longest reigning monarch in Iranian history after Shapur II of the Sassanid dynasty and Tahmasp I of the Safavid dynasty. Nasser al-Din Shah had sovereign power for close to 51 years. Mass'oud Mirza Zell-e Soltan (Persian: , "Mass'oud Mirza the Sultan's Shadow"; 5 January 1850 in Tabriz 2 July 1918 in Isfahan), or Massud Mirza, was a Persian prince of the Qajar dynasty; he was known as the "Yamin-al-Dowleh" ("Right Hand of the Government"). He was posted as the governor of Isfahan for over 35 years, and the governor of Mazandaran, Fars, and Isfahan for a total of 40 years.
