These file drawers would have contained records of the Nashville Chattanooga St Louis Railroad NC &StL, a significant railroad company in the mid-1800s. The 2 files drawers collectable offer a glimpse into the inner workings of one of the most important railroad companies of its time. Not sure the years used but NC RAILROAD opened in 1845 and STL. Was added in 1848. The railroad was fought over during the civil war to haul equipment needed for the the Confederate and Union armies. Many battles took place over the use.
