Description: Rare and wonderful old souvenir building inkwell made in 1908 for the National Bank of Commerce in Kansas City, Missouri. This miniature building is made of lead with excellent sharp detail in the Beaux Arts style architectural elements. The top is hinged in back and opens to reveal the inkwell inside - the glass insert is missing, but can be replaced with another. The top is embossed "NATIONAL BANK OF COMMERCE - JUNE 1908 - KANSAS CITY, MO." The bottom is covered in red felt. It measures 3.25" tall by 2.5" wide by2" deep, and weighs 3/4 lb. The real 15-story building was built in 1908 by Chicago architect Jarvis Hunt, and still stands in downtown Kansas City.
