Description: This council strip patch (CSP) is from the National Capital Area Council. This is a set of 3 csps honoring the James E. West Hike offered by NCAC. They are the SA-162, SA-163, and SA-164 issues. This patch series is part of their "History of Scouting Trail" CSP series. Very well designed, graphically good patches. The James E. West Hike is a 5.4 mile hike takes most units 4 to 5 hours to complete and the route takes you from the small park near the south side of the Air & Space Museum and ends at the National Museum of the American Indian. CSP 3 - James E. West Hike CSP-Red HOST Patch This patch features artwork inspired by Norman Rockwell's cover art for the ninth edition of the Boy Scout Handbook that was used from 1979 to 1990. This edition was noteworthy as it was the last edition to feature cover art produced by Norman Rockwell. CSP 2- James E. West Hike CSP-White HOST Patch The artwork on this patch is inspired by the cover art on the eight edition of the Boy Scout Handbook that was in use from 1976-1979. The cover art was painted by Joseph Csatari and entitled "All Out for Scouting" and actually made a reprise on the back cover of the twelfth edition if one looks carefully! CSP 1 - James E West CSP-Green HOST Patch This patch features a design inspired by the cover art of the sixth edition of the Boy Scout Handbook. The artwork was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1959. The handbook itself was in use from 1959 to 1965. Non smoking house. This is the exact patch you are going to receive, no stock photos used. Patch is MINT!
