This rare 4-panel promotional brochure was published in 1946 by the Nelson Aircraft Corporation then headquartered in San Fernando, California, U.S.A.. The "Bumblebee" was a pod-and-boom fuselage two-seat sailplane powered by a Righter O-45, 16 horsepower 4-cylinder engine. Altogether, the Nelson Aircraft Corporation produced only 1 Bumblebee glider in 1946, 7 Dragonfly gliders in 1947 and 7 Hummingbird gliders in 1953 before all production ceased. The narrative of this promotional brochure gives a brief background of the company and it's products followed by review of the Bumblebee powered glider features under the following captions: 1) Auxiliary Power; 2) Dual-Control; 3) Side-By-Side Seating and 4) Retractable Landing Gear. This promotional brochure also highlights the fact that you could buy a Bumblebee in kit form to save on the cost of this aircraft. The overall grade of this promotional brochure is in Good condition with a cover that has moderate corner, edge and surface wear along with 3 holes punched so that it can be placed in a 3 ring binder. While the interior 2-panels are clean, there is a short edge tear at the bottom of the right panel along with a small surface paper tear along the right margin of this same panel. This promotional brochure does not have any detracting markings.
