Description: New CD ABBATH -Dread Reaver- from Japan Description Description Norwegian black metal idols Abbath (formerly Immortal) have released their long-awaited third album. A masterpiece that combines black metal, NWOBHM, and thrash metal in the perfect ratio! Don't miss the cover of Metallica's Trapped Under Ice. Everyone loves the black metal idol Abbas. He formed Immortal with Demonas in 1991, and released their debut album Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism in 1992. He was immediately approached by a local TV station, who said, "I'll shoot a promotional video for you to show on your morning talk show," and he readily agreed. But this was a trap. The finished PV was a completely funny video! The Norwegian black metal scene at the time was a terrifying world where churches were actually set on fire. Making a funny video would be fatal. The members of Immortal were disheartened, thinking, "This is the end of our career." But this was a pleasant surprise. The heartwarming PV attracted the hearts of the general public, and Immortal's popularity exploded in an instant. After that, guitarist Demonas suffered from severe tendonitis, so Abbath played guitar, bass and vocals on three albums, At the Heart of Winter (1999), Damned in Black (2000) and Sons of Northern Darkness (2002). The fifth album, At the Heart of Winter, is widely regarded as Immortal's masterpiece. However, in 2003, when Immortal were on a roll as an artist, they suddenly disbanded. They eventually made a comeback in 2006 and released an album. The relief for fans was short-lived, but then the members began a legal battle over the ownership of the band name Immortal. Abbath then left the band and started a new band named after himself. This time, Abbath will release their third album, [Dread Reaver]. Unlike Immortal, who excelled in a sound that was very black metal, Abbath has incorporated a wider musicality than NWOBHM and others while still being based on black metal. This album, which took two years to produce, is fast, evil, extremely manly, and moderately melodic, and is a very Abbath-like album. It is a wonderful finish that blends black metal, NWOBHM, and thrash metal in the perfect ratio. What's interesting is Metallica's cover of [Trapped Under Ice]. This number was included in the historic masterpiece [Ride the Lightning], but Metallica themselves rarely performed it in live performances, so it could be called a hidden masterpiece. The choice itself is very serious, but the arrangement is the best, dyeing it into the Abbath world while still retaining the Metallica color. This is a must-have album for fans of Abbath, Immortal, black metal, and of course, for anyone who likes extreme metal!
