Description: New CD Bob Dylan -Allen Ginsberg Tapes San Jose 1965- from Japan Description Description ★An unreleased live performance from the period when Dylan transitioned to electric guitar! Performance in San Jose in December 1965. ★Right after the release of the masterpiece [Highway 61 Reminiscence], this was the flashpoint in rock history! ★Newly discovered master tape recorded by poet A. Ginsberg. In consideration of the spread of COVID-19, Bob Dylan's planned visit to Japan in April 2020 was canceled. Going back 55 years, to 1965, the shocking year when he made the transition from the prince of protest folk to rock. After releasing the historic masterpiece "Highway 61 Revisited," which includes "Like a Rolling Stone," at the end of August, Dylan will embark on a three-month live tour across the United States until the end of the year. The stage consisted of two parts: a solo performance with his own guitar and a band performance, which was groundbreaking at the time. In the first part, Dylan's creative energy, which was no longer contained in the framework of protest songs, produced new songs one after another every day, including "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Love Minus Zero," and "City of Ruins," which shows Dylan's new style of poetry. In the silence, the audience held their breath and listened to Dylan's style. The second part of the show featured rock music backed by R. Robertson, R. Danko, R. Manuel, and G. Hudson, who would later become "The Band." The tour was coming to an end, and the band was in top form after three months at this show in San Jose, California on December 12th. In addition to the repertoire unique to this time, such as "Tombstone Blues," "Skinny Ballad," and "I Don't Believe You," which features R. Robertson's memorable guitar phrases, the show also included a live version of "Lonely 4th Avenue," which had just been released as a single, and "It Ain't Me Babe," which is often seen as a live band performance, but it is rare for most fans to have heard it. Furthermore, the 1965 tour was the only time that "Long Distance Operator" was ever sung by Dylan, the composer of the song! It was later included with vocals by R. Manuel on the album "In the Basement," a collection of the legendary unreleased Woodstock sessions with The Band, but the Dylan version can only be heard here. This historically significant live performance was recorded by poet Allen Ginsberg, who was in attendance. As you know, Dylan and Ginsberg were close friends during this period. The recording he brought to the venue with him on a tape recorder has a close sound image, probably because he was involved, and is very stable except for the sound distortion during the early acoustic corner. Dylan's rock debut in 1965, where he was booed. Four months after the Newport Folk Festival incident, Dylan's current state. This is a rare live performance from San Jose, California on December 12, 1965.
