Description: This listing is for a jdsu lumentum corelight fiber laser, model YLE-6300. This is an advanced version of the YLE-6300 that came out just before the current generation of the corelight lasers, and offers higher output brightness. The 2.1kw modules feed the combiner with single mode laser light so that the output can be carried in a 50 micron core fiber with a BPP of 1.4 mm*mr. When Lumentum moved to their current generation laser they surplused a number of these and I bought them all. These are great lasers, even more reliable then IPG in my opinion. IPG pump diodes are rated for a mean time between failure of about 100,000 hours. As JDSU is the original source of pump diodes for underwater telcom applications, an environment where failure is NOT an option, their pump diodes are even more hardy, with an MTBF in excess of 600,000 hours! The output combiner has both cladding mode strippers and back reflection protection. These lasers were used in Amada systems. Please note these lasers were designed as a 'brick'. there is no front panel controls. You need to provide DC in (76v), water cooling, a 0-10v power level signal, and a ttl 'on/off' signal. Thats it. These would be great for a drop in replacement on an amada system or upgrading an existing laser. If you need a DC source to run these lasers on, I can provide one, and there are currently several appropriate sorensen units listed on ebay. Lastly, YES - if you want you could run these by battery.
