Then between eBay and paypal I pay 15 percent of the total revenue from a sold item in “final value” fees. This includes a fee on the shipping price as well (which I’ll never understand and I’ve fought with eBay countless times so that I can keep my prices down but to no avail). So eBay takes from me on the “front end” and also on the “back end”. eBay charges me, so I have to charge you. I have to buy packing materials including mailing bags, tape, paper and ink. I used to run sales but but do not anymore because they are low-yield and on top of that, customers want you to come down even more on the price. I understand wanting to get a deal, but when you devalue your items and show they are not worth anything to you then they are not worth anything anybody, so my prices will stay the same. I also used to entertain negotiation but usually I received offers from customers wanting 50 percent discount right off the top. Those are not credible offers so I don’t bother anymore. As I said, my items are priced fairly from the beginning. I select usually very unique items. Items that I would want in my own collections so they are not available from any other sellers.
