This idea, which was different from common sense, was a truly otherworldly sound. After only a few years of existence, these products became legendary, and one in particular left a huge mark. The Edge (U2), Jimmy Page, Radiohead, Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), Jay Many artists, including Wilco and Gary Moore, have used these discontinued units, causing prices to soar on the used market, sometimes reaching $800. The Cheese Ball is a faithful and highly accurate reproduction of the original circuit, a tribute to one of the most fascinating brands and circuits in the history of effects. The Cheese Ball consists of the standard Volume, Gain, and Tone knobs found on most distortions and fuzzes, but also includes an Extra Mode Select knob that allows you to select from four different tones and gains. In the OFF position, the Tone knob is disabled, producing a bright, trashy fuzz/distortion sound. In position 1, it's a mid-scoop sound with a Big Muff-style roundness reminiscent of the unobtrusive shreds of mozzarella sprinkled on top of a pizza. In position 2, it has a mid-boost sound reminiscent of a hot knife when cutting Velveeta cheese. Finally, in position 3, you get a coarse-grained gated fuzz tone that, when distorted, has a sharpness similar to Gorgonzola cheese.
