They use a 9v battery. The batteries included will be remove since they are obviously not good anymore. (They were still wrapped in plastic and not connected)Plan on getting a 09V battery for them. Electrical Components that do not use standard wall receptacles are not returnable once installed. Devices with a serial numbers will be recorded, any device without a serial number will be inconspicuously marked.
