The rim is slightly more dished than the previous version, with an external width of 32mm, an internal width of 25mm and a rim height of 40mm. The profile provides low drag and a better transition between the rim and the tire, which improves aerodynamic efficiency on the road. The rim width also helps reduce tire deformation, which lowers rolling resistance. With the combination of a wider tire, greater internal volume and lower pressure, rider fatigue can be reduced by smoothing out road imperfections: the tire and wheel absorb the vibrations, not the rider.
