Description: Snow 5b. NGC MS63RB. CAC Approved. The second usage of Obverse 8, which features date repunching of all digits of the date. Reverse AD has developed a small die break at the lower right of ON(E). The offered coin is outstanding for the grade and much nicer than the grade implies. I personally thought this coin would have had a good chance at grading MS64RB. NGC had erred by neglecting to include "With L" on the holder. Since I do not want to lose the CAC sticker, I have decided not to send the slab back to NGC to be corrected. The offered coin is the 1864 With L Variety 7c Plate Coin in my free Web Book 'Definitive Reference For Indian Cent Die Varieties', which is located at indiancentvarieties.com. If you purchase this item and would like your name to appear on the credit line for the Variety 7 page of my book, then please send me an email and I will remove my name and add yours. The sixth image is used here by permission of Rick Snow and is from his book 'The Flying Eagle and Indian Cent Attribution Guide', 3rd edition, Volume 1.
