Description: Offered for sale is a pair of Realistic MC 600 book shelf speakers. They feature a 6 1/2" woofer and 2" cone tweeter. Have a frequency response of 100 Hz to 18,000 Hz.When I first acquired these speakers they had issues. Both speakers had a top corner ding. One of the woofer cones was frozen and neither woofer registered on my multi meter. Both tweeters worked.I repaired the dings with some plastic wood. I re-veneered two sides of both speakers because of the ding. Stained them with some dark walnut stain followed bu two applications of polyurethane for protection. Removed all the speakers and replaced the woofers with some Infinity woofers I had from RS-2000 cabinets. They go down to 40 Hz. They both needed re-foamed so I did that before I installed them. I replaced the tweeters with some brand new Dynavox LY302F 3" full range speakers. They have a frequency response of 85 Hz to 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 86.2dB. They have a MSRP of about $35/each. The woofers fit perfectly, was able to use the same screw holes. Had to enlarge the openings for the tweeters.I replaced the 4.7uF capacitor in the cross overs. Used a 12uF, a 10uF and a 33uF cap in series for a final uF value of 4.68. Filled both cabinets with polyfill.These speakers now look incredible and sound even better than they look. The cabinets are like new and so are the grills. Both grills have the original Realistic badge. The frequency response of the speakers is now 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz, a definite improvement from the original frequency response.The dimensions are 13 1/2" H X 8 7/8" W X 5 1/4" D and they wiegh about 12 lbs/each.BEING OFFERED WITH AN UNCONDITIOANL NO QUESTIONS ASKED 60 DAY WARRANTY WITH FREE RETURNS.If you are not happy with your purchase, for whatever reason, you may return them for a full refund with prepaid return shipping.
