Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful large vintage serving bowl from Nicholas Mosse Pottery in the Blue Pansy pattern. Bowls of this size in this pattern are rare and hard-to-find. Nicholas Mosse Pottery is handcrafted in Ireland using a 20-step process and the designs are hand-applied using sponges. This bowl is beautifully painted in rich colors. See fourth photo from last: Nicholas Mosse himself at the potter’s wheel! Bowl is 10.5" diameter, 3" high. Very good condition, no chips or cracks. But there are utensil marks and a tiny air bubble (circled in blue) on the bowl's interior. Also a tiny bit of crazing. See last 3 photos. None of this detracts from the beauty and function of this bowl. There are still many years of life left. The backstamp appears to be covered with a sticker remnant. Mosse pottery is noted for being microwave and dishwasher safe. But microwaves and dishwashers would cause more crazing. I’d recommend avoiding the microwave and hand washing.
