Description: Very Beautiful Madame Alexander early 1955 Original Saffron gown, cape and accessories. The gown is a beautiful saffron colored opera length dress. It is very full and flowing. It has a lot of jewel and embroidery details. The caplet sleeves were very unusual to the Madame Alexander gown line. I believe only one other dress has this kind of caplet sleeve. The cape is all original, saffron colored and very ornately decorated with jewels and embroidery. The original gold cord is missing so there is a replacement gold cord to tie and finish the piece. The gown and cape have minor flaws, but otherwise display beautifully. The gown comes with the original slip with attached panties and boning hoopskirt, but the boning needs to be flattened out. The waist of the slip is loose so it is held tight with a safety pin. Original stockings, hose, ring, bracelet and MA shoes. The shoes are loose, but held in place with thin rubber bands. There are replaced earrings which are re-creations of the original. some slight blemishes, but it is a 74 year old outfit that is in great shape. I will ship using USPS Priority Mail.
