If upgrading from such a model, you can expect a 200x improvement in tuning accuracy, on average! The SDR is pre-installed in a limited-edition, jet-black, heavy-duty aluminum enclosure. The enclosure is designed to be nearly industrucatble, and is impermeable to most electromagnetic interference. The NESDR Mini+ Al utilizes the R820T made by Rafael Micro as the tuner IC. SDR Details The NESDR Mini+ Al is tuned for SDR usage, and includes a high-accuracy, GPS-rated 0.5PPM TCXO crystal. Further circuit and component improvements results in a lowered noise floor, increased stability and improved longevity. These SDRs are based on the R820T tuner IC made by Rafael Micro. As such, they have a frequency capability of approximately 25MHz-1700MHz, though this can vary somewhat from unit to unit. There is also an RTL2832U IC on board, which acts as the demodulator and USB interface. The connector type on the antenna and USB board is MCX--male MCX on the antenna, female MCX on the SDR.
