At 17oz it's perfect for reheating 1-2 servings. I got A LOT of years use out of these things! I've tried using alternative dishes to reheat but kept coming back to these. I love the extended lips for moving a hot dish quickly (not a manufacturer's claim...just mine....would be smarter to use oven mits). I found some at a garage sale-had to snap them up & realized how badly I missed them. Since then I usually buy these any time I can find them. Like anything, these will wear out over time but with proper use and cleaning they'll be well worth the money spent. Obviously if you overcook things, these could discolor or break down faster. I've worn out my share of these but almost all were from sheer time and massive use, again taking many years.... The lid fits nicely but with use & time does slightly change shape so that it may not be a perfect seal. Then again you shouldn't perfectly seal things when microwaving anyway. I throw a lot of leftovers into these to sit in the refrigerator. Even if the lids aren't perfectly sealed they cover just fine for a night or two in the fridge. In addition, these stack easily in a refrigerator and don't take up much space. I recently came across some of these new but without packaging....a few more than I need so I'm selling the extras. ***Item comes from a pet-free / smoke-free home******We welcome your questions***
