Description: Noritake Japan "Somerset" 13" inch Oval Serving Platter VTG #5317 discontinued EUC This is a 13" Oval Serving Platter vintage retired Noritake "Somerset" pattern piece. This platter will become an integral part of your holiday dinners from your delicate puff pastry appetizers, a delicious cookie tray, the Thanksgiving Turkey, Christmas Tenderloin or Easter Ham. This platter will see Holidays, Birthdays, Graduations and Christening's. This platter is known as a 13" inch platter but it actually measures 13.75" inches long and 10.25" inches in width and stands 1.25" inches tall. The "Somerset" pattern from NORITAKE Japan was only made from 1952 until 1973, so it is roughly 60-plus years old. It is an older pattern that is very elegant with the white fine porcelain decorated with dainty tan and gray scrolls around the rims with larger pink and blue flowers and leaves scattered around the inside body, trimmed with a thicker gold line around the rims. This is a quiet, understated and classic pattern with it's pastel multicolored pieces and in the thoughtful design. This piece would be a nice addition to Noritake you may already own or another China as accompanying pieces. Each piece is in perfect pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks or crazing with a nice glossy finish and embellished with the Noritake blue/green wreath and bow with a stylized letter "N" in the center Noritake China Japan Somerset #5317 This platter would have seen the most use and some of the gold inner line and rim line show signs of thinning, appearing less vibrant.
