Description: On offer is this American sterling silver hand-hammered sauce ladle in the Norman Hammered pattern by Shreve and Co, San Francisco, 1909. It is monogrammed with an engraved T. The Norman Hammered Arts & Crafts pattern was one of the first designs marketed by Shreve after the Great San Fransico Earthquake of 1906. This earthquake, estimated as 7.9 magnitude, devastated all of San Fracisco, so these pieces are part of California and American history. This handsome ladle is 7 1/4 inches long and weighs approximately 2.96 Troy Ounces. The original finish is present, as I do not buff or machine polish; I only use a fine silver cloth. This ladle is in fine original condition and has clear detail in the engraving, with no removals, repairs, or restorations. This is an antique, not new, ladle, and so may have a few small, shallow scratches from use. Please look at the photos and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
