Description: Norman 'Turkey' Stearns 1978 Laughlin Long Ago Black Stars #4 PSA 7 NM - Low Population of first card depicting HOF "Turkey" Stearns, form Knoxville Tennessee, was a long-ball hitter whose career lasted from 1921 to 1942. A great outfielder, he was fast baserunner and hard slider. Starting out with the Montgomery Grey Sox, he became the lefthanded power man of the Detroit Stars from 1923 to 1931. In his first year with the Stars he hit 35 homers. In his thirties he was still good enough to make the West All-Star team in four of its first five games (1933-1937). He also played for the Lincoln Giants, Cole's American Giants, Chicago American Giants, Philadelphia Stars, K.C. Monarchs, and the Detroit Black Sox. PSA Population: 1 of 9 graded PSA 7...
