Description: When EMD sold off their manufacturing plant, one of the rooms in the plant that was destined for destruction was EMD's acclaimed Model Railroad Club. The HO layout was build by EMD employees over a long period of time and was showcased at EMD open houses and as part of locomotive training classes. The EMD training center was just down the hallway and we used to treat our customers to a half hour session. It was also open by request to EMD customers who asked for a visit. These photographs represent the last evening operating session of the layout. It was attended by invitation only and I was asked to take photos documenting the evenings events. The photos are oversized 7" x 5" and were printed by Parkway, EMD's go to company for color prints. I think there were only two or three sets of these made. I didn't count the photos but it's a significant stack. I am also including an award won by the club, most likely from around 1958 based upon the lower LH GM Anniversary logo.
