Description: This a magnificent piece of history from the shipwreck's Nuestra Senora de Atocha and the Santa Margarita which sank off the coast of Key West Florida on September 6, 1622 after striking a reef during a hurricane. The treasure galleon was part of King Philip IV Terra Firme Fleet under the rein of Philip III and was discovered July 20, 1985 and June 10,2007 buried in the sand off the Key West coast. After years of searching, the treasures hunters from the Mel Fisher origination were able to find the ship treasure that was only supposed to be fable. This particular coin is a grade two (2) / 4 Reals denomination from the Pitosi Mint with a partial visible date #6##, the coin is beautifully struck and has exceptional markings. The 14 Karat solid gold dreamcatcher swing bezel was designed and hand crafted by the world famous Blue Sophia and her husband Kim at their studio in Key West. The coin can be reversed on the gold chain to add even more versatility to this piece. Inlaid within the custom designed swing bezel are two (2) pearls recovered from the Santa Margarita shipwreck where the pearls laid untouched and shielded in a lead box until their discovery on June 10, 2007. The ship was loaded on September 4,1622 according to the ships manifest and was sunk along with the other heavy laden treasure galleons on September 6, 1622. By combining the pearls of the Santa Margarita and the coin from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha into one piece you can rest assured you will have a one of a kind piece of history hanging around your neck that no one will be able to lay claim to.It truly is a one of a kind piece of opulent world history. The coins bezel is supported by a exquisite 22'" 14 karat gold rope chain which was not part of the shipwreck treasure but none the less beautiful in it's own right.
