NWA 7921 Carbonaceous CV3 Chondrite Meteorite - G383-0100 - 0.46g - 300 CLUB

Description: Hello and thank you for viewing my listing. Today you are purchasing one rare cutting fragment specimen of NWA 7921 Carbonaceous CV3 Chondrite Meteorite from Morocco. This meteorite has an excellent abundance of CAI's in almost every slice I have ever made. Very popular meteorite at the shows and sold quickly and now I am down a few small part slices and lots of micros coming to obtain the 300. Main mass is at the Australian Nat University. Most of the other biggin's are in Chinese universities now too. Don't miss out! Below is the data for my classification. Excellent addition to your collection. THE 300 CLUB IS A NEW CATEGORY I HAVE MADE. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION LAST YEAR THAT A LOT OF MY CLASSIFICATIONS, ESPECIALLY THE OLDER ONES FROM 2006 AND ON, WON'T EVER HIT 300 IN SPECIMENS MADE AVAILABLE. I WILL BE STARTING AT MY FIRST CLASSIFICATIONS AND GOING THROUGH THEM ONE BY ONE THIS YEAR AND FIGURING OUT HOW MANY WILL MAKE IT TO THE 300 CLUB AND HOW MANY WILL KEEP GOING BEYOND THAT. A LOT OF THIS DEPENDS ON THE ORIGINAL WEIGHT CLASSIFIED IN THE BEGINNING, MAKING THEM MUCH MORE RARE AND VERY LOW NUMBERS. SOME SPECIMENS WILL BARELY MAKE IT TO THE 100 CLUB. I HAD NO IDEA YEARS AGO THAT I WOULD DO THE TUCSON AND DENVER SHOWS FOR 10 YEARS AND THEN BIG UNIVERISITIES WOULD GOBBLE UP LARGE SPECIMENS MAKING MY WEIGHTS GO DOWN VERY FAST WITH SOME OF THESE CLASSIFICATIONS. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS SECTION, WHEN THEY ARE GONE, THEY ARE GONE. ALL SPECIMENS COA'S WILL BE MARKED 100 OF 300 ETC FROM HERE ON OUT ALSO. THE ORIGINAL CARDS WITHOUT THAT STATEMENT I WOULD ASSUME WILL BECOME MORE COLLECTIBLE. METEORITES ARE ALL ABOUT COLLECTIBILITY AND PROVENANCE AND I'M A RECORD KEEPING FOOL OF MY COLLECTION. I'VE CREATED A LIBRARY TO MY LEFT, LOL. CHEERS! DATA: THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN 119 SPECIMENS SOLD TO DATE OF NWA 7921. I WILL RETIRE THIS NWA NUMBER ONCE IT HAS HIT THE 300 SPECIMEN MARK IN MY BOOK. I HAD JUST REDISIGNED A NEW CARD, BUT NOT MENTIONING THE 300 SPECIMENS WAY OF DOING THINGS NOW, I WILL WRITE IT OF COURSE ON THE CARD WHEN FILLING OUT THE CAT, WEIGHT AND SIGNATURE. THANK YOU. WAS THAT TOO MUCH TO DIGEST??? LOL. My catalog number is G383-0100 and weighs in at 0.46 grams and comes with my card of authenticity for provenance. Remember, provenance is a must when collecting meteorites. I have designed a COA for NWA 7921, as I do with all of my classifications. The specimen you see pictured is the exact specimen you will receive. Each card comes with catalog number, weight and my signature of authenticity. Thanks again for viewing. Cheers! Thanks again for viewing and my shipping is like this, the first is usually only $4.79 and .50 cents for each additional item, unless over 60 grams, then 1.00 per item. Everyone is given the opportunity to shop for two full weeks without ever exceeding 10.00 shipping, no matter how many you win or buy over the two-week period, even earth stones! Cheers and thanks again for stopping by. Northwest Africa 7921Basic informationName: Northwest Africa 7921 This is an OFFICIAL meteorite name. Dark irregular exterior, some weathered fusion crust, chondrules visible through desert patina, saw-cut reveals densely packed chondrules of variable size, many 1-2 mm, CAIs present.Petrography: (C. Agee, UNM) Microprobe examination of a polished mount showed a sharp boundary between a large CAI and host matrix + chondrules. Matrix is very fine-grained with numerous porphyritic chondrules, accessory augite, diopside, aluminous diopside, and anorthite. Large CAI is approximately 95% gehlenite, with accessory spinel, hercynite-spinel, CaTiO3-perovskite, calcium carbonate, and Fe,Ni-metal.Geochemistry: (C. Agee and L.
