In at least one such case I checked out, the word "Sanyo" and a product number that at least looks like a typical Sanyo product number appear in the title, but are never seen again! And there was not a single listing photo in that listing that actually showed what they were selling. Definitely no photos of any Sanyo or Sanyo Denki branded or labelled products. So if it matters to you whether or not you are buying genuine items, and if you support honest ethical sellers, please read all listings carefully (including mine) that you find for items you might want to buy. If you find any that are engaging in "Bait and Switch" marketing like that one example above, such as using false names in a listing title just to get you to go to their listings, I ask that you not buy from them. Notes on Listing Title: Sanyo Denki San Ace are registered marks, e.g. protected by copyright, trademark, and possibly other "Marks", of Sanyo Denki and its related companies. We are simply reporting what's on the labels on these fans, as shown in the listing photos. We aren't authorized dealers, agents,, etc. for any Sanyo entity. We bought our stock from a now closed company that bought these directly from an authorized selling agent for Sanyo Denki (please see photos that show the shipping label on one of the cases we have of these). But with over 25 years of sales on eBay and an excellent feedack rating, you would be justified in trusting what we say and do regarding our eBay listings. OEM Sanyo Denki San Ace 60 means that Sanyo Denki itself is the maker of these items, through one of its authorized manufacturing plants, in this case located in the Phillipines. Sanyo Denki is known for its quality products. "OEM" is generally used as an abbreviation for "Original Equipment Manufacturer", which usually means that the named manufacturer (Sanyo Denki) is creating components intended to be used in other manufacturer's equipment, rather than being sold by such a manufacturer separately. But when a manufacturer goes out of business, as was the case here, their remaining inventory can end up on the market -- in this case, on eBay! Competing listings on eBay for fans where the word "Sanyo" appears in the listing title -- and then typically nowhere else in the listing, which by then you've been lured into looking at if the brand "Sanyo" was a factor in your choice of listings to look at -- are in our belief misusing the word "Sanyo" in the listing title, sometimes even the very first word, to engage in practices called by eBay with such names as "Keyword Spamming" and "Misleading Title", which describe listings that are against ebay's rules against "Search and Browse Manipulation". Those listings don't claim, when you look at them, that they are selling actual Sanyo products. They don't even, when you read the details of their listings (and I've read several doing the same thing), claim that their products are "like Sanyo", "equivalent to Sanyou", "similar to Sanyo", etc. So: Please don't buy from other sellers who try to trick you into looking at their stuff, generally appearing to have been made in the PRC (People's Republic of China), rather than the "real thing" that we're selling here! 60 appears to refer to 2 out of the 3 dimensions of this fan (60mm each) to give buyers a quick idea of the size of these items. See the next Note. 60x60x38mm are the exterior dimensions of this square shaped fan. Please review the many photos, taken from different angles, of one example of our very large stock of these. Please note that we are only selling the fans, exactly as shown in the listing photos. No mounting hardware, e.g. machine screws, is included, though the 4 wire leads are mounted in a snap-to-lock white plastic connector. 48VDC means this model fan is designed to run on 48 volt DC power., per the labels on all of these fans. The amperage rating on its label (not enough room to include that in the listing title) is 0.5A. See next Note. 2 power 2 control leads means that there are four leads connected to this model fan. We aren't electrical engineerrs or otherwise specially trained in this area, but for those who don't already know what "PWM" means in the contexdt of regulating cooling fans, we've come up with some basic information to share: Our research to this point (we are still seeking more specific information about these) is that the red lead is for 48VDC positive power input, and the black lead is for 48VDC return / ground / negative connection. The remaining two leads are (1) yellow, which from our initial research appears used to provide a function called "Sensor", oterwise referred to as "Pulse Sensor", and (2) brown, which appears to provide a function called "Control", which in the case of this fan appears to be related to "PWM" ("Pulse Width Modulation"), meaning a precise way of tuning fan speed using "pulses" of a steady feed of DC power -- in this case, 48 volts -- rather than varying the voltage.as a more conventional way of controlling motor speed. For more information, please use the search phrase I did: "what does PWM mean in relation to fan control". You'll find many discussions about the meaning of "PWM", as I did. We do know that the fans will simply run on 48VDC power if the only leads connected are the red and black ones. The fans won't refuse to run just because the yellow and brown leads aren't in active use. As to how reliable these fans are, and are we correct in calling them "48VDC" powered fans: We ran one of these for over an hour from a 48VDC output regulated power supply (Astec brand; not included in this sale) by cutting off the white plastic 4 pin type connector that is pre-attached to the leads on all of these fans that we have, connecting the red and black leads only, per our research and general knowledge, with the red lead attached to the "POS (+)" terminal of the power supply and the black lead attached to the "NEG (-)" terminal of the power supply, with no signs of overheating, fire, smoke, or other indications of "trouble". We believe, but have not yet confirmed, that the yellow and brown leads are for controlling the operation of the fan. Even if not used, the fan can still be powered up and run (see previous paragraph) even if the yellow and brown leads are not hooked up to anything other than the fan itself. Along with the power leads, the yellow and brown leads connect to a circuit board inside the body of the fan housing. We'll try to include some photos once we get further along into taking apart one of these fans to see what they look like on the inside. We think we have some information as to exactly what the yellow and brown leads are for, but are not yet ready to share what we believe we know, because we want to be as close to certain (if not actually certain 100%) as possible before we'll share what we have uncovered so far. 9GV0648P1H16 is the model number shown on the labels attached to all of these fans. CONDITION AND SOURCE OF THESE FANS We recently obtained 12 cases of these fans. The company that previously owned them was an ISP and very into rooftop point-to-point line-of-sight sharing of Internet access. They were also into solar power, which is likely why many of their systems involved 49 volt DC power as 48 volts DC is a common voltage figure used in solar systems (a large discount hardware operation in our area, for example, always has 48 VDC solar panel systems available for purchase). We bought their entire order of those 12 cases, other than those that were already built into systems they apparently custom designed and built. Theyleft behind many partially completed systems. I have no information about what apparently caused them to cease operations and have no need or reason to find out. 10 out of those 12 cases are still sealed so have the original quantity of 90 inside each. The remaining 2 cases out of that order of 12 were opened before we got these fans; each is about 50% full. So 10 sealed cases of 90 fans per case = 900, plus about 90 more from the two half cases combined, means we have around 1000 of these. Please note that the first photo is a tightly cropped version of a photo from the auction catalog, so that the only complete fan you see is a single example. The photo showing some of the stacked boxes of these fans is there to show you we really do have a lot of them available, even though as noted earlier, we are at least initially committing only 50 fans to the initial running of this sale. I can show a chain of custody between actual Sanyo Denki authorized sellers, and my source for these fans, on request. And of course if speed is a concern, you might prefer to buy from a 25+ year eBay seller located in the San Francisco Bay Area, whose standard turnaround time is to ship within one business day after the date that payment is complete. I can also often ship lighter smaller items like these even on a Saturday, if the USPS is to be used, and if payment is received by noon California time, even though I wouldn't be required to ship items paid for on a weekend -- because my customers appreciate that I can often do that and because I like to "keep things moving".
