Description: Officers' Row 1904 is an historical fiction work, based on a true story. Sifting through reel of microfilm at the downtown San Diego Public Library. I learned that the lives of the military personnel stationed at the former Army post of Fort Rosecrans at the turn of the twentieth century, were inextricably woven throughout the many wonderful social events that took place in San Diego over a century ago. There were military balls at the famous Victorian seaside resort Hotel del Coronado, picnics atop the cliffs of Point Loma, parades along Fifth Avenue, and fireworks over Glorietta Bay. This publication is a summary of the story I uncovered. It was originally created with the hopes of doing a documentary film. We hope you enjoy our personal interpretation of a tale that has been hidden and laying dormant for over a hundred years.
