Description: ARTIST: Theodor Ulrichsen is a well-listed and quite productive Danish artist, whose works have been offered at auctions and exhibited several times. Although he occasionally painted landscapes, most of his paintings are cityscapes from either Copenhagen or the small towns and villages in its vicinity. He also worked as an illustrator for newspapers. PAINTING: Oil on canvas. The painting is a classic scene for this artist with a dirt road winding its way through the village of Husum, which is located to the north-west of Copenhagen. Naked trees and hedges stretch their bare branches towards the heavens in front of and around the row of houses which border the dirt road. In the left corner is the name of the village: “Husum”. I’ll date the painting to somewhere between 1950-1970. Signed: “Th. Ulrichsen” in the lower right corner. SIZE: With frame: 49 cm/19.3" * 42 cm/16.5". Without frame: 38,5 cm/15.2" * 31,5 cm/12.4". CONDITION: The painting is in great ready-to-hang condition - no holes, tears or missing paint. The frame has minor scratches and stains.
