Description: You are bidding on: An Old Soviet Epoch WW2 time Authentic BRASS Buckle for MILITIA ( police ) Officer BELT with USSR Coat of Arms 16 Republics!Belts with buckles of this type were worn by the Soviet Militia Officers in late 40's and 50's. Made in USSR of brass. Good condition, need some cleaning – see photo for all details. Dimensions 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" (7 x 5.5 cm). The serious collector knows that the Soviet Union was consisting of 16 republics (including Karelian-Finland Soviet Socialist Republic) during a short period of time from 1946 to 1956 (before 1946 there were 11 republics, after 1956 - 15 Republics). I was born in the USSR and I was 26 years old when Ukraine became independent in 1991 in accordance with Article 3 of Treaty on the Creation of the USSR (1922, December 30).
