Description: This auction is for an original, vintage issue of “Song Hits Magazine.” This particular copy is for Volume 16, Number 3 (October, 1952) This magazine covered the top popular music hits of the day, providing printed lyrics “guaranteed correct” so fans could sing along at home or at parties. Also feature stories about the biggest sensation that month, gossip, and lots of advertising for things like Charles Atlas, ladies bust enhancer, and of course lots of records and photographs of the stars. The issue is packed with popular songs and singers. I recognize a few, but most of them are now obscure except for the fan or collector. The magazine is 18 pages, 22 x 30 cm, with a glossy cover and newsprint-style pages. I don’t usually sell magazines, so I have no idea about condition – these were bought by Grandma and then put on the shelf. Over the years, maybe the kids leafed through them, but they have essentially been sitting still for 60 years. Some minor wear & creasing, but all pages present & intact, cover still attached.
