The wood grain itself is beautiful with a few knots here and there. there's a central portion that is more honey and the outer areas are more ash tone. The board does have a hole on one corner near the long straight edge. the shorter sides are rounded. It does have some characteristics in common with burl wood - the knots. This piece is better used as a serving tray/ platter since the natural wood grain design is quite pretty. None the less it is recommended to season this board to keep it looking its best, be sure to use food grade mineral oil. The oil also enhances the beauty of the wood grain design.
