Description: Rare Opalescent Blue Glass Boat "LAFAYET" Steamboat Pressed Open Salt, SANDWICH GLASS, BT-4D. This is a very rare and beautiful Antique Sandwich pressed glass open salt in a steamboat pattern. The remaining steamboat wheel is marked, "LAFAYET". The back of the salt there is an embossed mark, "B&S GLASS Co.". On the inside floor of the salt on the steamboat it reads, "SANDWICH". What makes this salt even more rare is the beautiful mix of peacock blue and a fiery opalescence to the bowl of the glass salt. The salt was manufactured by the Boston and Sandwich Glass company. This is an "As Found" example with one of the steamboat wheels of the ship missing. Very rare Sandwich Glass opalescent blue steamboat salt offered here with no reserve and a Buy It Now. SIZE: The salt is 1 11/16" H. x 1 7/8" W., and 3 5/8" L.. CONDITION: The condition is As Found with one of the steamboat wheels on one side of the ship missing.
